The purpose of the Network for Science and Technology for Sustainability is to facilitate connections between individuals, and to promote the sharing of knowledge, ideas, and goals among a community working on science and technology for sustainability. Membership in the Network is open to all those engaged in the conduct or application of science and technology in support of the joint goals of a sustainability transition: meeting human needs while preserving the life support systems of planet Earth. Over time Network members will be invited to participate in specific discussions related to the core themes of sustainability science and technology as new understanding arises and as they reflect the unique needs of particular regions. In a sense the Network is an experiment to discover how scientific collaboration on this major task of the century can advance with much communication and modest organization.
To qualify for Network membership, you should be active in the conduct, management, or application of research that goes beyond the study of environment or development, but combines both through an emphasis on nature-society interactions and is intended to contribute to a transition toward sustainability. Submitted applications will be reviewed by the Initiative on S&T for Sustainability. Following review, applicants will be notified of results.
If accepted, Network Members will have their biography displayed, can submit Network Projects , take part in Discussions, and help guide the development of the Forum itself. Click here to submit your application for Network Membership. If you have any questions or comments please send them to the Managing Editor via email at .
